Tnertle at Gem & Jam by Zach Toth
We sat down with Trent from Inside Out Presents group Tnertle to catch up on the Winter Whiteout Tour, their set at Gem & Jam Festival and what they’re looking forward to next.
So you just wrapped up the Winter Whiteout Tour — how was it?
“It was great! Lots of awesome people coming out to show their support!”
You also just got done hanging out at Gem & Jam – so what gem would you use to describe yourself? And how did you feel getting booked for the festival?
“Turtle green malachite. We felt honored to be added to Gem & Jam’s lineup! The set was amazing, we played right at sunset in 75 degree weather and the people were getting down!”
What are you all currently listening to while on the road? Any favorite songs or artists you want to share?
“We play “pass the pod.” Each person gets to pick a song and then passes the aux to the next person. You can either choose to be loved or hated, and everything from metal to the Lord of the Rings soundtrack has been played.”
For those of us who have never gone on tour, what keeps you entertained during the long drives between shows?
“Listening to music and enjoying the scenery — if there is any.”
They say “what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas”…but you’re not in Vegas right now. Any crazy stories from tour that you wouldn’t mind sharing?
“Lots…panties being left in the wrong car and someone using a towel to wipe their face that had already been used to wipe up other foul things are the first two I can remember.”
What has been your favorite city to go through on this tour?
“Besides Denver…Avon, Tucson and Fayetteville have been amazing.”
The year just started and you’ve already played pretty rad tour and a festival. What are you all looking forward to as the year goes on?
“Hopefully a busy summer full of festivals and other great shows!”
