Inside Out Presents Staff Picks: Fall 2016 Shows

Fall festivals and concerts

Fall shows and festivals are where it’s at. We may be deep into October, but there are still plenty of great shows to catch this fall. Check out some of Inside Out Presents top picks for events to add to your calendar.

Halloween Throwdown Ft. Bass Physics and Blunt Force

Date: October 29, 2016 in Austin, Texas

Tickets: $5!!

IOP artist Blunt Force joins forces once again with Bass Physics for funky, soulful Halloween party at one of our favorite Austin venues, Empire Control Room and Garage. And it’s only $5?! Need we say more?!

Four Nights of Phish

Date: October 28-31, 2016 in Las Vegas, Nevada

Tickets: Sold out–check out a ticket reseller site or Facebook group.

A Phish fans dream–four days of Phish at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas for Halloween. Again….this one speaks for itself. Tickets are sold out, but check Facebook groups or ticket resellers if you’re determined.

Suwannee Hulaween

Date: October 28-30, 2016

Tickets: Starting at $189 for weekend passes

Three nights of String Cheese Incident is the headline here, but the supporting acts are equally as exciting. We recommend catching Louis Futon, Charles Bradley & His Extraordinares, Slow Magic, Gramatik and Lettuce for a well-rounded weekend.

Flamingosis with Late Night Radio tour

Date: October 27-December 10, 2016, all over the U.S.

Tickets: Varies by venue

Flamingosis is your new favorite producer–trust us. His style is reminiscent of the late, great J Dilla, but funkier. He’s on tour all fall with another IOP favorite, Late Night Radio, and they are hitting up Austin, Denver and Fayetteville–so make sure to pencil them in.

Camp Flog Gnaw

Date: November 12-13, 2016 in Los Angeles, California

Tickets: Starting at $98 for day passes

Tyler the Creator’s carnival/festival hybrid is as random and full of goofy surprises as the man himself. It features a mostly (great) hip hop and R&B lineup, such as Action Bronson, SZA, A$AP Rocky and Lil Wayne. Kaytranada is a must-see as is Pretty Lights, who will be in a different world than the normal festivals we see him at.

Day For Night

Date: December 17-18, 2016 in Houston, Texas

Tickets: Starting at $150 for weekend passes

Day For Night is more than a music festival; it is a completely interactive art experience. Taking place in a 1.5 million square foot indoor and outdoor space in Houston, it features an eclectic lineup of music, including Kaskade, Travis Scott, Thundercat, Banks and more, plus huge art installations throughout.

Psssst: Earn a free weekend pass to Day For Night by promoting the festival for us!

Date: December 16-17, 2016 in Detroit, Michigan

Tickets: Starting at $40 for a one day ticket

What better way to celebrate the holiday season than with the merriest electronic elf himself, Griz? This is the third year Grizmas has taken place and the supporting lineup is as good as ever, including Louis the Child, Big Wild and Sunsquabi.
