Tired of the same ol’ wub-wub-wub? Empire Control Room & Garage is bringing two legends for a night of old school vinyl-based goodness on 12/7: Cut Chemist and Peanut Butter Wolf.
Whether you realize it or not — you’re already a fan of both artists.
Peanut Butter Wolf is the man behind Stone’s Throw Records, an L.A.-based label known for keeping the music scene weird — and what better place to keep things weird than Austin, Texas? It is thanks to Peanut Butter Wolf we have the following additions to our music collections: Madlib, Dam-Funk, Knxwledge, Anderson .Paak, and of course J Dilla. Peanut Butter Wolf has been making beats and spinning since 1984, so stop by Empire for a bit of schooling a la:
Cut Chemist is a former member of hip hop group, Jurassic 5, as well as Latin funk band, Ozomatli. He went solo in 2006 and is known for his intricate mastery of the turntables and ability to weave in instruments you may have never even heard of throughout his tracks.
