Euphoria means a feeling or state of intense excitement and happiness, and nothing could better describe this Austin, Texas-based festival.
There are a lot of festivals to choose from this year, but here are five reasons why Euphoria Music Festival is a must for your 2017 festival list.
This year’s Euphoria lineup is heavily distinctive from the recycled lineup you see many festivals churning out lately, fostering the opportunity for new music discovery. With top acts like Pretty Lights Live, Young Thug, and Moby on the lineup next to up-and-coming funk artists Turkuaz and Flamingosis, bass heavy Ganja White Night, and the soulful and smiley Maddy O’Neal, the lineup at Euphoria truly has something for everyone.

For the 6th year in a row, Euphoria will be held on the picturesque Carson Creek Ranch. It is one of the oldest existing ranches in Texas, and easily accessible from the airport — as in directly across the street —for those traveling from afar. ,The ranch sits on two 20-acre pastures separated by a creek, and the landing airplanes are an exhilarating contrast to the beautiful land and bright laser shows. Optimal shade is provided by a pecan grove that nestles near a natural amphitheater and covered pavilion.
3. Camping Improvements
Any seasoned festival goer knows that camping is the best way to experience the familial magic that occurs during Euphoria. Unlike many festivals of their size, the Euphoria team prides themselves on listening to their fans and has made some serious improvements to the camping experience this year.
We’re not going to lie — last year’s hilly, bouldery path to the campgrounds was excruciating, though we know every festival comes with its own price to pay for the fun to be had. However, this year the new GA campgrounds are much closer to the festival grounds, there’s no more “path of death,” and if that weren’t enough, there’s so much more room for activities. Campsites have been expanded to 15’x10’, perfect for propping up your shade structures and stretching out.
Euphoria also added a new shuttle system from the parking lot, which means no more hauling all your gear up hill. And this is just GA — not to mention all the bonus amenities that come with VIP camping, the option of Wednesday early arrival, and an assortment of glamping packages. 4. Art Outside Village
What makes a festival unique? To us, you must examine what brings people together besides the music.
We are beyond excited about this year’s Art Outside Village at Euphoria. This area, sponsored by Texas fest favorite Art Outside, will host a variety of curated art installations, workshops, yoga classes and performances for the entire crowd to enjoy. The handpicked Elements team will also add to the experience and community of the festival with live paintings, hooping, dancing and more!
Euphoria is dedicated to being an eco-conscious festival, and is increasingly growing its green initiative called Ecophoria, bringing along our team to help out this year as sustainability director! By incorporating initiatives that help to preserve Carson Creek Ranch into the festival experience, Euphoria seeks to bring together our community and take care of the environment. We believe that Euphoria Music Festival, along with the city of Austin, is more than just a community for music but a home for our ever-growing festival family. In order to take care of that home, Ecophoria offers free water refill stations, and has even teamed up with Austin Permaculture Guild to host workshops that will provide art grants to those wanting to create a new take on trash receptacles. More info on Ecophoria coming to the blog soon — stay tuned!
